It is with regrets that we inform our customers that we have had to close our doors to business as of October 20, 2020. We have been in the crazy fine art industry since 1988 and we have had our share of recessions, profitable years and we built some amazing projects. 2020 has been the year of unexplainable events for some and for others the timing may have been exceptionally perfect.
The landscape of the fine art and framing business has changed in so many ways over the years. It unfortunately has become a very fickle, subjective and a rather struggling industry. Some of our customers had filed for bankruptcy due to the effects of Covid-19. However, in September Art Effects was making sincere efforts to expand the business into other parts of the country. One of our larger clients, who ultimately made false assumptions, had decided that they felt threatened by our growth efforts and that they were now too good for us as a company. They unfortunately took a majority of their business elsewhere without any further discussion after 16+ years of working together.
Our decision to close Art Effects after this many years is just business and it assumes the risks that go along with it. Things happen for reasons that we sometimes can't see immediately but even though we have to say good-bye, life will go on. For that, we are grateful.
Our employees all have new opportunities whether it be retired or new employment elsewhere. For that, we are grateful.
Thank you to all of our long time customers and vendors that had been with us for over 32 years. You understand the real meaning of loyalty. For that, we are grateful.
